Building an AI Pair Programmer for ADaM

Abstract

At Novo Nordisk, we seek to deliver medicines more effectively and efficiently by leveraging the capabilities of Generative AI to accelerate our processes. We want to support our clinical trial programming activities with AI tools and coding assistants, scaling the output and impact of our statistical programmers. Delivering a product in this space poses numerous scientific and technical challenges What is the right context to expose to an externally hosted model? What workflow will best support our employees and leverage their domain knowledge? What design choices will best integrate with our existing IT landscape? In this presentation we will discuss the features we built and experimentation conducted to tackle the above questions, and how we are integrating Generative AI into the ADaM programming processes. The work presented represents a joint venture between our Biometrics and AI & Analytices organization and in collaboration with Microsoft’s Industry Solutions Engineering team.
